Come follow me and stay awhile

This is my second Blog I have started. Gaining a following is an entirely different challenge. For me it is a great outlet to read, and see where I was a month ago or a year ago and the progress I made.

Over the weekend I spoke to several people who follow many Blogs and if the person did not update it daily they would get angry. So here is my quandry, figuring out how to keep people engaged and want to read what I am doing and gain followers. You can invite people to come, but getting them to stay....

It reminds me of holding a party. There are people that hold a party and you want to attend and look forward to it every year. They have that 'something' that attracts people.

I am new to this, finding my hook to get people to not only follow but stay. The new freelancer is always looking for suggestions. (that is me by the way!)

  1. I stumbled upon your blog by chance. I found that unless you're a blog of note its very hard to get noticed. I have a website and three blogs. I may be starting a fourth blog soon. I am also a wanabe writer. I realized that I'm not yet what you would call a great writer. I'm starting small and working hard. I joined witing.com. You can post things and have writer's review them and tear you up. Its scary, but I'm getting better. I have a site called simple obsevations. I'm writing a humorous book of short stories and I post work here. I hope to self-publish this year. I also have a blog dealing with health and fitness. I'm having trouble getting visitors to my main blog-simpledykie. I've added quotes, funny pictures, jokes, short stories, and assorted things. Its tough getting started. I wish you luck with all your endeavors. I'll check back in on your two blogs. Keep writing and running.

  3. Hi Kirsten,
I found this blog thru your profile on Redgage. Yes, it's difficult starting out and gaining followers. Have you tried Blogfrog or Mom Bloggers Club? You can make a profile there and start networking with others and get noticed by more people. I've got buttons on my blogs tht will take you to those sites if you're interested. Twitter also helps alot too. Best of luck to you!
